“Something small” oil and gold leaf on canvas, cm20x20. Now SOLD
I love bees! Yesterday was the world bee day, so I wanted to celebrate these amazing creatures and share a painting I did last year.
So much to say about these little insects, they are vital to our and other animals survival. They ensure biodiversity and health of the ecosystem, and impollinate most of the plants we depend on.
To me, bees are phenomenal creatures, whose existence is severely threatened. Present species extinction rates are 100 to 1,000 times higher than normal due to human impacts.
So to help them this year I am finally planting some bee friendly plants on my terrace (or you can leave sections of your garden wild, it is also great!) and never ever use pesticides! You can also leave some water for them or build a bee-hotel or make donations to a charity for the conservation of bees. Whatever it is, it’s important to know how much these little animals do for us and everyone else, which is much much more than we do for them!
